"The Power of Psychological safety in Workplace"

In the past month, I worked in my plant, but due to machine problems I had to spend three weeks at another plant. Initial days, I suffered with the differences there. But I ended up learned so much in those three weeks than I did in a month at my own plant.

This made me ask myself “Why didn’t learn this much in my own plant?”. Then i realized in my plant there is no Psychological safety.

Here are the key differences I noticed:

  • In my plant, I often avoided asking doubts or questions due to fear of judgment or being misjudged. But in the other plant, I asked many questions, and every time, they patiently taught me.

  • There, I received small appreciations while doing my job, which never happened in my plant.

  • The people were very friendly, which made me speak more clearly and fearlessly.

This experience taught me how much a supportive and open work culture impacts learning and growth. Psychological safety is not just a luxury. It is essential for better learning and confidence.
